Welcome to the home of the

Buckeye Retriever Club

Who Are We?

The Buckeye Retriever Club of Northeastern Ohio has had a long and distinguished history in the Mid-West. Our goal remains to enhance the retrieving breeds and our human relationships with them through training, testing and selective breeding. Along those lines, the Buckeye Retriever Club was established in December of 1948 by Virginia Boston, Guthrie Bicknell, Van Hill, William Richert, Dr. N. Siplock, James Scholl and W.R. Boston. Many of our current members have been active with these wonderful working dogs for the better half of the last century. A special thanks is due to the Kittredge family (Natalie and son Jon pictured at right), for their years of generous dedication to our club. Now that this forum exists, more historical information will be posted as it is gathered.

What Is The BRC All About?

The BRC takes pride in offering area breeders, owners, trainers, handlers and hunters opportunities to train and test their dogs' ablilties in a wide range of formats. We host AKC Hunt Tests and Field Trials in the Spring and Fall. In addition, we open our grounds to other area clubs' licensed events, so our calendar is very full. We also host many members-only-activities to welcome new owners and trainers and to work our veteran dogs in the company of old friends.
